Together We Can

The idea for Together We Can originated from the recent police shootings that had been occurring between police officers and our community, specifically African-American males.  The Association of Counseling Psychology Students met during Summer 2016 to see what we could do to help prevent these happenings in our local community.  One of the programs that we developed was Together We Can. On November 11, 2016, members of the Counseling Psychology program (led by Jade Kinney) came together with members of Auburn’s police force and other members of the Auburn community for the sole purpose was of recognizing the lives lost during police interactions, the police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The evening provided a chance to fellowship and  foster relationships with our local law enforcement and community.  We hope that this event, along with future events, will allow us to create healthy relationships with our law enforcement and open discussions that can help to prevent any lethal altercations that could possibly ensue. A video of the event can be viewed at this link.
